MILAN – maximum performance for the most exacting requirements

The abseiling device and the rescue device feature automatic speed control. Thanks to the centrifugally controlled brake, the device keeps the speed constant for the entire abseil run, thus enabling swift and safe rescue.

What really puts the MILAN abseiling device in a class of its own worldwide is that no castings are used in its manufacture. The housing is milled from high-tensile, aircraft sheet aluminium in one single operation. This eliminates any possibility of thermal problems occurring even when it is subjected to the greatest loads.

The MILAN is now part of the standard equipment used by gangs working on aerials and by mobile phone system operators, and for maintenance and evacuation operations on platforms and offshore facilities as well. This abseiling device is also used around the world where wind farms are being erected, or need maintenance and repair.

on the block and tackle principle are generally used where there are several experienced rescuers on hand, self-rescue is not involved and the heights are not too great, such as situations dealt with by the fire brigade, technical emergency services, or cable railway rescue etc.

Jannual inspections, overhauling and repair work on abseiling equipment MUST ALWAYS be carried out by the manufacturer or by approved repair workshops.
